Ferraris on Oak St Chicago
What goes best with Christian Louboutins? Ferraris, of course, preferably an entire street of them, plus 500 feet of red carpet (to match the cars and the bottoms of shoes). The awesome members the Central States Region of the Ferrari Club of America (FCA) delivered big as hosts of Ferraris on Oak Street in Chicago IL. Sponsored by the Oak Street Council, more than 70 new and vintage Ferraris owned by FCA members parked down the cordoned red-carpeted Oak Street on a perfect July Sunday.
Oak Street is home to swanky shops such as Tom Ford, Armani, St. John, and the aforementioned red-bottomed Loub shoes, similar to Worth Ave in Palm Beach or Rodeo in Beverly Hills. Sandwiched in between busy Michigan Ave and the bar scene on Rush Street, Ferraris on Oak Street was quite the happening scene. FCA members, guests, Chicagoan’s and tourists perused the Italian machina in between high-end shopping and eating . A superb lunch was held at Del Friscos on Oak Street, and cocktails flowed at Spiaggia on N. Michigan Ave. the night before. Funds raised by admission and raffle went to Lurie Children’s Hospital.
The Oak Street Council hopes to sponsor another Ferraris on Oak Street event again in 2018. Looking forward to it…
